Let me start by saying that I have personally been a member of My Survey for a couple of years now and I can safely say that they are not a scam!

MySurvey have recently had been re branded, which may be why you have not heard of them before. But they used to be know as Lightspeed Surveys Australia and are backed by the international market research company Lightspeed Research.

My Survey is a consumer panel made up of individuals who have volunteered to participate in market research studies. Their website is where panel members can participate in online research, update their information and redeem their My Survey Points for gifts & gift cards at major retailers.

World Of Paid Surveys Scam?

A lot of survey companies automatically get questioned because of the industry, and I have hear a couple of people throw around the idea that World Of Paid Surveys is a scam – so today I wanted to take a look at their business model, what they offer, and whether it is the best option for you if you are looking for legitimate paid surveys.

What Is World Of Paid Surveys?

World of Paid Surveys is basically a survey aggregation website.

What they do is you pay them a signup fee and they have access to a large selection of market research companies and email you survey opportunities. In other words it is like you are signing up for a heap of survey websites in one go.

Is World Of Paid Surveys A Scam?

Now what they are offering is completely legal, but a couple of things makes me a little weary of them:

  1. You Have To Pay To Access Them

    I am a believer that if you are doing online surveys, then the market research companies should be paying you – not you paying them.

    You are doing them a favour, so I would much rather sign up with Lightspeed Surveys or some other survey company that does not require a payment, then part with $25 before I even start making money.

  2. They Make It Seem Easier Than It Is

    If you visit their home page they promote that you can $20 for a simple multiple choice survey with just 60 questions.

    From my experience, this is unheard of, and for something similar most paid online surveys would give you about $1-2 for something similar.

Now these two things do not make World Of Paid Surveys a scam, but it should make you wary – and it would not be my choice for making money from surveys.

What I recommend:

Instead of paying to sign up for an aggregation website that (may) send you more surveys then you could have time to complete (I personally doubt you would get accepted in that many). I would personally sign up with a few of the reputable Australian sites for paid surveys – and see how you go with them before you look at expanding your reach.

  2. Don’t Believe ‘Unrealistic’ Figures

    If a company or website is promising to provide you with a regular stream of $50 surveys, then they are no doubt setting you up to fall on your face. The truth is that most legitimate paid surveys will pay you $2-5 a survey (with a few high paid surveys for the longer ones).

  3. Get Peoples Opinions

    If you know friends of relatives that are completing paid online surveys, then they should be your first port of call. Find out which ones are working best for them – and start with those companies.

There seems to be a lot of people looking to supplement their income by trying to earn money doing surveys, and if you are an Australian, then this can be quite a minefield.

The problem is that the majority of paid market research companies are from the United States and while they promise big returns for little work, apart from usually being unfounded – they are not open to people from Australia.
